----

We're delighted to announce the call for participation for the
Energy-efficient Computing developer room at FOSDEM 2014.

FOSDEM is held annually at the Université Libre de Bruxelles and takes
place over the first weekend in February. The developer room will run
on Sunday 2nd February only.

Proposals are solicited in the area of energy-efficient computing
under the following categories: a) 10-minute lightning talks; b)
30-minute technical presentations; c) workshop contributions.

Lightning talks should aim to give the audience a brief introduction
to a new topic or innovation, with the expectation that technical
presentations will provide a more in-depth analysis of more developed
concepts. Workshop contributions may involve the application of
software techniques, tools or hardware. Talks may also wish to link to
the workshop.

All contributions should be aimed a technical audience and related to
F/OSS and/or, where appropriate, open source hardware. While
energy-efficient computing is a broad domain that extends as far as
things such as data centre cooling, the developer room focus is very
much at the system level. Typical topics include measuring the energy
consumption of applications, energy-efficient compilation and
energy-aware frameworks.

To propose a lightning talk, presentation or workshop contribution visit:

And please ensure that you select the *Energy-efficient computing
devroom* track.

The deadline for submissions is Monday 18th November. The developer
room is being organised by the MAGEEC project and any questions should
be directed to the mailing list:
